The Killy adventure began in the early 1970s. Jean-Claude Killy, triple medalist at the 1968 Winter Olympics, licensed his name to Baron Edouard-Jean Emapin to develop a line of skiwear. After a slow but steady start, 1976 became a defining year for the success of the brand. During this key year, Jean-Claude Killy met Alan Krzentowski and partnered with Veleda, a clothing manufacturer that sold a high volume of velour pants and stretch ski pants to Printemps in Paris. Fueled by this new challenge, Jean-Claude Killy and associates threw themselves into every aspect of the company.
